The truth is I'm afraid,
Afraid of what you could do to me,
Of all the damage I've worked so hard to repair; to be undone,
I'm scared to break down,
That kind of vulnerability is so much to handle,
It takes trust,
Honestly I want to let down these walls,
It's so tiring,
I'm afraid to be rejected,
I'm afraid that you'll throw me away like everyone else has,
But I care about you so much,
So I'm trying to not be afraid.
